Driving Theory Test Kit is designed to help UK learner drivers prepare for the car theory test.
We only want to collect and use information that is reasonably necessary to provide, improve, secure and support the service.

The information we process depends on how you use Driving Theory Test Kit.

This information allows the app to remember your progress and provide features such as Smart Practice, Today's Plan, progress tracking and Test Readiness.
Your theory test date
If you choose to add your theory test date, we may store it so that the app can provide relevant study planning and reminders.
Adding a test date is optional.
Preferences
We may store preferences you choose within the app, such as:
- appearance settings
- sound settings
- haptic settings
- reduced motion settings
- study goal
- reminder preferences
These are used to provide the experience you have selected.
Technical and service information
We may process limited technical information where necessary to operate, protect, diagnose and improve the service.
Depending on the services used by the final version of the app, this may include information such as:
- device and operating system information
- app version
- technical identifiers
- error and crash information
- security and diagnostic information
- IP address and basic connection information
We do not use this information to create advertising profiles.
Information you send us
If you contact us, we will process the information you provide, such as your email address and the contents of your message, so that we can respond and provide support.

4. Personalised learning and Test Readiness
Some of Driving Theory Test Kit's most useful features depend on understanding how your learning is developing.

- hazard perception activity
- learning over time
- material due for review
to decide what may be useful for you to study next and to build your Test Readiness picture.
This is intended to help you understand your preparation and focus your study.
Test Readiness is a learning aid. It does not guarantee that you will pass your theory test.
We do not use your learning profile to make decisions about employment, insurance, credit, education admissions or other matters that have a legal or similarly significant effect on you.
5. Reminders and notifications
Study reminders are off by default.
If you choose to enable reminders or test-date notifications, we use the information necessary to provide those notifications.
You can change or disable reminder preferences within the app.
Where your device allows it, you can also control notification permissions through your device settings.
6. Launch emails and other emails
If you ask us to tell you when Driving Theory Test Kit launches, we will use your email address for that purpose.
We will not treat signing up for a launch notification as permission to send unrelated marketing.
You can ask us to stop sending optional communications at any time.
Essential service or account communications may still be sent where necessary to operate your account or service.
7. Our lawful bases for using your information

If you download or purchase Driving Theory Test Kit through the Apple App Store or Google Play, Apple or Google may process information relating to your store account, purchase and use of their services.
That processing is governed by their own privacy policies.
We do not receive your full payment-card details from the app stores.

Some technology providers may process or store information outside the United Kingdom.

12. How long we keep information

Account and learning information will generally be retained while your account remains active.
If you ask us to delete your account, we will delete or anonymise associated personal information where appropriate, subject to information we need to retain for legal, security, fraud-prevention or other legitimate reasons.
